Just installed new Graphics Card, considering new cpu

I recently installed a GE Force GTX 660 and Black Ops still runs a little poorly. I was considering updating my cpu to an 8 core from a dual core. Possibly a AMD FX-8350. Shouldn't that support me enough to run quite a bit with no hiccups or having to lower settings on the game? Thanks

What cpu do you have now? and yes the 8350 is a good gaming processor and will last you a while.

AMD Athlon II x2 240 @2.8 gig, seems like a pretty solid upgrade right, thanks for the answer, bit of a noob. Buddy helped me build this thing, trying to get more comfortable in upgrading.

Should I consider new RAM? I was surprised that with a new graphics card i still had lag time and weird jolts during game play.

yea, you need to upgrade that thing now. A dual core won't cut it for modern games. An 8350 will be a huge upgrade, I suggest also buying a coolermaster hyper 212 cooler for the cpu.

How much RAM you got? Right now if you wanted to upgrade it don't go below 8gb 1600mHz

I would get 8gb ram if you are purely gaming, however if you are going to be recording/streaming/editing then i would get 16gb. Speed isn't as huge a deal but as woltej said i wouldn't go under 1600mhz. If you plan on overclocking, I would go with the 8320 and just overclock it to the same speeds as an 8350, and save yourself a bit of money, however you could overclock an 8350 past that so if you really want faster speeds than get that. Also, the 8350 looks like a promising cpu to last as amd recently won the console wars, so developers might start utilizing more cores. Also, you might have to lower settings on your game, but that would be because of the 660 not the 8350. I own an 8350 myself and have not overclocked it yet and am very pleased with the results.
