So I had just installed an ssd into my computer and loaded up windows seven on to it. When I went to launch from it it worked just fine but none of my files from the hdd is there. How can I get it so it loads the OS from the ssd and loads everything else on hdd.(ex:Windows loads from ssd but desktop has all the files I want from hdd) Is this possible? If this can't be done, how can I restore my windows 10 from a backup I made. Pleas help ;_;

Disconnect the SSD and then restore the backup to the HDD and make sure you can boot from it (presuming that you performed a complete backup). Once you reconnect the SSD and boot from it, the data files on the HDD should be accessible. Since you didn't clone the HDD, applications obviously need to be reinstalled.

I normally backup and then delete all data that isn't required on the HDD; then I clone it to the SSD. Once done I restore the files from the backup to the HDD.

It is detected, but says there's nothing on it.(I didn't delete anything from it maybe it did it automatically) I just did a Windows backup before messing with anything onto a external drive. And what do you mean clone? I don't want everything on the ssd for it doesn't even have enough storage. Thanks for replying so fast though

ok, for clarification I'll start from the beggining. I installed the ssd into my computer. I then backed up the computer to an external drive via Windows backup. I then went into bios and put in the Windows 7 cd. Went through the procces and put it on the ssd. I then set the bios to launch from ssd. It works fine but without any of the drivers for graphics card, wireless,etc. that's where I am now. The ssd has Windows 7 and that's it, the hdd is apperantly empty now, and I want to be able to launch from ssd and have Every other file saved to the hard drive. If this can't be done I would like to be able to reload my Windows 10 backup from earlier. Hope this clears some stuff up. Kinda a newb
