Just installed windows 7 over windows 8, painful, but I couldn't stand to use win8 for another second. However, now it appears that I have no drivers. I can't even connect to the internet on it now, it says no networking hardware detected.

Does anyone know where I could get all needed drivers for my aspire v3-571g?

Thanks in advance really need to figure this out by tonight!

They mean by that message that some of the drivers are included in Windows 7 and/or Windows 8. These drivers will either be installed during setup, or will require you to run Windows Update to receive.

Follow COLGeek's link, select your country, then click drivers and downloads. Enter your serial number or model number on the next screen and select your OS version. That will get you your drivers.

One word of caution, just to make sure you are aware: a lot of manufacturers are really pushing Windows 8, so much so that, when you call one of their tech support or warranty lines with a problem on a PC that shipped with Windows 8 installed, their first question will be "What is your current operating system?" When you tell them you rolled back to Windows 7 they will tell you that the PC was designed to run with and certified for Windows 8 and the first troubleshooting step is to restore the computer to its factory default settings with the Windows 8 operating system. Some of them won't help you in any way until after you complete that step.

I don't know if this is the case with Acer and this model, but I just wanted you to be aware of that possibility.

Laptop manufacturers usually make sure that the only operational system that will work with the computer is exactly the one pre-installed. That means you cant even take a full reatial vrsion of windows 8 and install it yourself, it has to be the OEM version, usually stored in a secret partition on your hard drive if you ever need to make a factory reset.

I know how Windows 8 sucks, but Microsfot tries to make sure you have no choice but to get. Good Luck trying to fix it, it may be possible. If not..the options I see:

-Install Linux, even tough it may not work a few things like the webcam
-get a macintosh and install Windows 7, it runs perfectly, even better then most windows machines
-Get a Windows 7 notebook

A quick search of the drivers at the Acer drivers page shows that the Aspire V3-571G is compatible with Windows 7 64 bit and drivers are provided. Unfortunately, the results page with all of the drivers does not seem to have a direct link, but selecting Aspire V3-571G on the page linked above then selecting Windows 7 will provide all of the links.

To get you started, here is the link to the network drivers from Acer. This way you can throw them on a USB stick to get network access on the notebook to download the rest of the drivers.

Thank you very much! Just wondering though on the page you provided me with, it says "This page shows only drivers that are not contained in this operating system."

Does this mean I will be missing some drivers after installing all of these?
