Hey everyone, I was looking for some good wireless internet companies to use in my new place and I came across Rango. They use something called Hi-Fi and it's apparently supposed to make your internet speed faster and a much better experience. You can check this article to learn more about them. Should I go with them? I'm honestly highly intrigued.

Sales Gimmic!! There is no difference between HiFi and WiFi.

HiFi is related to transmission of high quality audio using one of the transmission mediums such as fiber optic, USB or wireless (using WiFi). On the other hand, WiFi refers to technology related to WLAN standards (e.g. IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ad).

The "HiFi" you are looking at is just wide area wifi. Popular in more rural areas.

It would depend on what alternatives there are. If there is no cable or dsl or other wired service in your area then you would want to determine where the nearest transmitter is for either Rango or a phone company like Verison that offers 5G internet service from a cell tower. Are there any neighbors you could consult with on how they get internet?

And I will add the the suggestion that you carefully read the contract, EUA (End User Agreement), and other similar documents.

Very likely that there is language therein that not so obviously states there are no guarantees with respect to speed, performance, service, and support.

And even allow the ISP more intrusive permissions to do as they will with your information etc..
