Just my $800 budget newegg gaming build

Solution
7970= R9 280X the R9 280X just uses a more efficient chip with higher clocks it is a re branded 7970 a card from late 2012 and it wont have full DX12 support (they have the same core count TMU ROPs etc.. basically same performance clock for clock)

AFAIK the only cards with full support for that is the GTX9XX series you might as well just wait for the R9 380/R9 380X they are spouse to be Tonga Chips with the same core count maybe slightly more performance we wont know until next month anyway

if u want a build now H97+4460 and a GTX970 is as good as it gets

or u could at least try to shove a R9 290/290X in there as they have VSR and AMD true audio and free sync support XDMA Xfire etc..

something is off shouldn't a 800 usd build have a GTX970 instead of a 2012 7970 will the efficient version of it Tahiti XTL lol seriously the 15ish something watts make no difference lol

anyways i own a 7950 (r9 280) and it is Overclocked to 1300/1900 and it is already coughing blood lol (and if you're lucky u could get that chip to 1.2GHZish)

anyways if this was back in 2012 yah that card would last 3 years+ now? meh i would rather wait for the R9 3XX or go with a H97 4460 GTX970 build instead

I'd get a GTX 970 but if you can't go over $200 for a GPU I'd take a GTX 960 over a R9 280x. You're going to need an aftermarket cooler for overclocking. If you're at your max budget it might be better to lower the cpu and raise the gpu.

Jeeesus...Looking at the witcher 3 benchmarks makes me want to abandon pc gaming altogether...only 44 fps on max detail for a r9 290x?

Fuck this.

It's not just the witcher 3..

It means Pc gaming is advancing so quickly that you will have to spend money upgrading every single year eventually just to keep games playable.

THat's unsustainable, financially

but why? it is a R9 280X not a 285 or a 280 hell even the 285 and 280 are better when Extremely Oc'ed (pushed as far as they would go with a good chip)

the 280X has 3GB of Vram 2gb is Dated and Obsolete for 1080P

well as far as it goes for me the best card i ever got is my 7950 which is almost 4 years now got it some time around late AUG early Sep cant remember lol it is a vapor-x and now i need an upgrade but i cant Figure out what card to buy coz of all the hair works tress FX Phsyx mantle TruAudio Freesycn crap seriously why cant i just buy any card that i want and have the full game Experience regardless of my graphics of choice

TBH tho best thing u can do if u want a card to last a while is to get The Best single card available or get a Low tier high end card and Xfire/SLI them and be prepared to run into SLI/Xfire support issues lol

PS4 has an underclocked 7870 that is technically an entry lvl mid-range card and can do 1080P 60FPS or 1080P 30FPS

Xbone on the otherhand has a crap 7770 WTF i need Microsoft dealer i have no idea what they smoked when they decided to go with that the only reason the 360 and the original BOX had good sales was coz they were cheaper and had a better GPU 360 GPU is a lot better than the PS4 and it has a easier architecture than cell but now they went ahead and almost fully copied what sony did with the PS3 lol FAIL ESRAM GPU runs on DDR3 shared with CPU so much fail ..
