The 9600gt is actually a bit better than an HD4670 and not quite as good as an HD4830.
For the closest equivalent you have to go back a generation to the HD3870.

Dont go back with older 3xxx gen ... pure waste if you want my opinion.

get something new. And it depand on your need and the computer you have.
