i followed the steps I found here on forumz and moderately oc'ed my comp to 3ghz ... so 333 mhz fsb x 9 multiplier on the bios.... weird thing is though.. when i open CPU-Z it states that i have 6X multiplier instead of the 9X.. but when i open Core Temp, it shows that I have 333 x 9 ... on CPU-Z once in a while it would change back to 9X but 99% of time on CPU-Z it ssays i have a 6x multiplier... what's up with that?? is there a way for me to check for reals?

I have 2 overclocked machines, both using Asus p5b delux mobo. On both I have disabled speedstep in the bios, but cpu-z (1.39) shows that they both drop to the minimum multiplyer when idle and jump to the high one when active.

Regards

Graham

Make sure you disable Intel's SpeedStep in the BIOS.

If you run a program like prime95 you'll probably notice your speed jump back up to 3ghz. Your computer is just conserving energy while it ain't doing anything.
