Hi

Just bought the cpu... im currently using the steel legend.
Ive seen online that the old bios sometimes doesn't work with the newer cpu 5600x
If i update the bios now while using my 2600cpu,.. will the new 5600x be on the new bios? or will i have to manually put on to a usb

Thanks

The BIOS lives on the motherboard. Once it's installed, it'll be compatible with the new CPU without any other action.

However, I would recommend resetting the BIOS to its default setting (either through BIOS or removing the CMOS battery and waiting a minute) if the update doesn't do that. This is to make sure you have a clean slate for the new CPU.
