Question Just put a new system together... CPU power cables don't have much room at all, are slightly pinched, and sharply bent over. Is this okay?

Hello... So my case is a HAVN HS 420, I'm using an Arctic Freezer Pro III 420, and the fans are in the way causing all that which I did not expect. Also some bits of My ASUS Rog Strix X870-F are in the way, so the cables are pinched between that and the fan. Is this okay to leave like this? Am I missing a potentially obvious better way to route this? Are there 180 degree adapters or something I can safely use? Everything is working great at the moment. Also I can't bring the cables in from the openings right behind the plug, at least it didn't seem like I could make it work... the cables bunched up too much and I couldn't get the radiator back in at all. Thank you for your help.

You might want to include images of the build overall, including the rear of your case. You've zoomed in on the area you think is affected.

IMHO, you should be routing wires behind the motherboard tray, not over it. I also feel like you didn't build your system in the right order, whereby you manage the cables after introducing the motherboard and PSU, then add the AIO to the top.

I can't get more photos at the moment, I will when I'm able to. I did state that I tried to route the cables behind the motherboard at first, but it created more of an issue where I couldn't get the radiator back on at all. I built everything in the right order, and I'm able to easily take the radiator off with 2 screws to make room to work there anyway. It's screwed in to a metal grate that then screws into the case.

It could end very badly if cables are sharply bent at connector end. those GPUs were notorious for their connectors melting and even catching fire. 90 degree adapters are available and are slightly better solution if you must use them but research which are safe. Some of them made more trouble. Can find a lot of that on you tube.

Thank you, but I am talking about the CPU power connectors. I am aware of the issue with the newer 12vhpwr cables etc. I'm just not sure if the CPU ports on the motherboard could have a similar issue or any issue from how I have them.

The motherboard connectors don't have the same issue as GPUs.

@Lutfij is correct though, you would typically route those cables under the motherboard tray down to your PSU.

While you don't have tons of space is your case, you should be able to move things a bit to better route those cables.

Thank you. Do you think a 180 degree adapter would be an acceptable solution? If so, is there one you could recommend that won't fry my system?

I will try to reroute things as well, just not sure what else I can really do.

Using adapters for EPS12V connections is definitely an option, but it's the last thing I'd try. Lining up openings can be troublesome and I just don't like using adapters in general if there's a safer way.

When you tried to route through the back were you using the openings right above the EPS12V connectors?

If so there appears to be a longer opening next to those and it might be viable to use that for at least one of the two cables. This would minimize the curve of the cable and may let it lay flat enough.

Doesn't matter much which connector, sharp bends at the connector can pullout easily or prevent good contact.

From looking at your case then it does seem that when using a 420mm radiator and 3x140mm fans that it is very snug at the top.

Above the 12vEPS power there is a rubber gromit which is where the cable should routed. I have found that depending on what the PSU cables are made of then this can make it awkward to bend - i use individually sleeved paracord cables and they are not very flexible at all making cable routing more of a challenge. I ran a push pull 140mm fans setup on the top of my case historically which interfered with these cables. The cables you are using look more like the traditional cables which do seem to be more forgiving although when brand new they will feel quite stiff.

If the 180 degree bend to route the cable back through the gronit is too much i find that you have to feed more cable through and bend 90 degree towards the bottom of the case and then a 180 loop back and then go through the gromit. This should alleviate a lot of the pressure on the cable but at the sacrifice of possible aesthetics as the cable will be more visible.

You also have fan cables in that space as well from what I can see which also will want to go through the gromit. As space is tight they to utilise the next gromit over or think about possible spinning fans 90 degrees to change the cable position.

It would be good to see the EPS cable and what bend we are talking about without the fans in place if possible though.
