Question I just ran GPU and CPU stress test - - - how is it looking ?

Hello everyone.

I need someone with more knowledge.

So I just installed a new MOBO, CPU + cooler and RAM sticks. GPU is the same and PSU is the same.
I also installed a brand new OS Windows 11 Pro as well as doing a thorough cleaning of fans and cabinet before installation.

Specs are as follows:
Motherboard: MSI B650 Gaming Plus WIFI Motherboard
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
GPU: ASUS RTX 3070
RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 DDR5 6000mhz 32GB (16GB x 2)
CPU Cooler: NZXT T120 CPU Fan 120mm

I would like to add that the fans in front (intake) are 140mm. The rest are 120mm.

Can anyone take some time and look at it and tell me if it's all ok, or if there is something wrong anywhere?
I reccon the temps are alright, nothing special, but just alright - However I am not sure about voltage and all that other jazz.

Corsair is the brand of the unit while 750W is the advertised wattage of the unit. What is the model of the unit and it's age?

I'd have looked in a beefier cooler if I were you.

The case looks like a Fractal Define R6. If it isn't, you might want to include the make and model of your case as well.

So, I should invest in a better CPU cooler - Do you have any recommendations? Do you think that's why my CPU hits 92-94,5 celcius?

As for your PSU, the Corsair 750W is a solid choice, but could you provide the exact model and its age? It’s useful to know if it’s still within its lifespan, especially since the PSU is critical for stable performance.

Regarding your cooler, the NZXT T120 120mm fan is decent, but if you're pushing high-performance components, I’d recommend considering a more powerful cooler for better thermal management, especially if you’re overclocking.

Also, I'm not looking to overclock anything yet. Just to be able to game with relative ease - No rendering or video editing in mind.

The main thing that jump out at me is the PSU as I would not have a 12 year old PSU anywhere near that PC. You have all these new components being powered by a PSU that is likely far past its best at this stage. It was a decent unit in its day but degradation will mean it is not putting out what it once was and is a risk in my opinion.

You could get a better cooler as well to be honest. You don't need anything crazy but something along the peerless assassin or bequiet dark rock / pure rock level would serve you better and can be found for reasonable prices depending on your location.

Admittedly the 7000 ryzens do tend to run hot by design (which always makes me feel a little uncomfortable coming from years of working hard to keep temps below a certain value) but a better cooler will give you more headroom for boosting performance

A good budget cooler imo is the Thermalright peerless assassin. It’s a dual tower cooler with 2 120mm fans. Should run 35-40 bucks on amazon.

There is a good deal ongoing on MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 in my country. Would that be good?
Also, because I am lazy at times and I just spent hours rebuilding my PC, can I reuse the same PSU cables from the old one into the new PSU? Or is that not recommended?

From looking at the reviews then the PSU seems to be fine. The only thing to consider for me is the potential transient spikes the 30 series seemed to suffer with but I would expect it to be fine.

I tend to only buy corsair RMx PSUs for all my builds, so I am probably not the best person to confirm 100%. I am sure someone on here will know for definite if this is the best option

I was looking for a 1000 unit, but when I found the thermaltake gf3 1200 watt unit I’m currently using and that it appeared to be in the tier A list, it was only 5-10 dollars more that the 1000 watt units I was looking at, so why not to have a little upgrade hearing later? Also keep in mind power supplies will age and so even though they recommend let’s say 750 watts…in a few years your 750 watt unit as it ages may not be able to always output 750 watts for example. So if it doesn’t cost much more, better to oversize it a little with maybe an 850 watt or 1000.

As a fan (pun intended) of positive pressure cases, and assuming the front intake fans are filtered, I would lose the top exhaust fan. Two intake and one exhaust should limit the buildup of dust bunnies in the case.

Also, as long as you are planning on running your build stock without any overclocks, your cooling should be fine. Bear in mind that enabling memory profiles (XMP etc) will increase the system's idle power consumption for little obvious benefit.

Bad thing about computer building is you can start on a budget and be good to go, but when you start upgrading you can go down a rabbit hole quickly.
