I just replaced my power supply because I just got a r9 280x. When I hit the power button, the fans run and it sounds normal, but there is no video signal to the monitor. Also I noticed that my mouse light lights up for about 1 seconds and then shuts off. There are no lights on my keyboard either. I did the "hold down power button" trick and that didn't work.

can you post your entire system specs? then we gonna see whats wrong here.

Thanks. I've been planning to update it... don't mind the color scheme lol.

@OP Honestly any advice I give you will be covered on the link I was talking about earlier. If you ran through the checklist thoroughly then it's likely there is a problem with your hardware.

Ok I've put back in my old video card and everything worked fine. Mouse stayed on and I got a signal to my monitor. It has to be something with the R9 280X?? The fans run on the 280x so its getting power. Also I'm not getting a signal with HDMI or VGA.

Also my motherboard is an IPISB-CU(Carmel 2). Running 8 GB DDR3 memory. Core i5-2400 3.1 ghz.

I've gone through the checklist and I've done everything I can think of, its something with the 280x. 600w should be plenty to power that card right? I'm not running a ton of stuff that would require a lot of power on my pc either.

The old graphics card (a 7770) was one I bought separately. I recently bought a new case. An NZXT Phantom 410 and moved all parts from my prebuilt HP H8-1114 into it and its been working perfectly. I bought the case because I needed room for the 12 inch 280x. But like I said I plugged back in my 7770 and everything worked perfectly, even with the new PSU. So I've narrowed it down to something wrong with the 280x.
