so i have just upgraded my graphics card from a gtx670 2gb to a r9 290 4gb and i have noticed a slight difference but not massive which i thought i would have. i can now play games like battlefield 4 on the very highest settings getting between 50-80fps when before i was on just high settings. im running it with 8gn of 1600mhz ram and a fx-6300 @ 3.9ghz.
is this normal as i read up on the reviews and from what i worked out my new r9 290 would give me amazing results.

yeah i thought my cpu might be bottlenecking it and i plan on pushing my overclock to 4/4.2 when i get a new cooler for it in the next few days and my motherboard is a gigabyte 78lmt-usb3 and my psu is a coolermaster b700 700watt. cheers guys

Do not OC on your MB too much, I currently have a GA-78LMT-USB3... You should be fine with wattage on your PSU so you should be fine on your power delivery stuff. It probably is your CPU bottlenecking your GPU

i have purchased a new cooler today (cooler master hyper 212 evo) and pushed my overclock to 4.1ghz and all is stable and fine. yeah i guessed my cpu might be bottlenecking my gpu but i couldnt turn down the opportunity to buy the r9 290 off my friend as he sold me it really cheap. next step for me is to upgrade to a intel mobo and cpu but that wont be for a couple of months, any good ideas as to what mobo and chip to look for. i was looking on spending around £200-£225
