Just upgraded RAM, power button blinking in orange twice at regular intervals.

I just upgraded the RAM on my Dell Inspiron desktop, the original one is a Micron 4GB RAM, 1333 mHz, and the new one's a Samsung 4GB RAM 1600 mHz. When I turned on the computer after the upgrade, the power button lit up white, as it normally did, but then changed to orange and began to blink twice, with regular intervals in the middle. What does this mean? And what do I do to make it start regularly with the new RAM?

Do you know if the Dell supports that RAM? If you give us model number we can check.

My desktop is a Dell Inspiron 3647 and the RAM is a Samsung RAM 4GB DDR3 PC3 12800-1600MHz 240 PIN DIMM desktop module

Did you try with only the Samsung RAM in there?

So it looks like (from a few sources online such as Crucial.com) that it takes low voltage RAM. I googled the Samsung RAM and it might be non low voltage. Can you see a part number on the RAM like M378B5173DB0-CK0 or similar? Did you buy the RAM online and can provide a link?

So it does seem as if the higher voltage RAM is supported (1.5v)
So I guess at this point try with only the Samsung installed if you haven't already and let us know.
