750 wat gold taken from old work station but still powers all i need it to for now.
My desktop computer specs are
Asus rog Strick bf450 older version am4
CPU Ryzen 7 3700x 4250 MHz ultra on Rift game 200+ d3 350 plus wow classic on ultra
CPU temps 59c max 2x pump corsair water cool not sure which one
gpu temps run about 48c max load
ddr4 2400 MHz ram corsair dominator over clock from 2100 some thing
Radeon 6600 8g
Asus 1080p 180 MHz 1ms ips monitor

Only reason why I been choosing my desktop over my laptop is because of the CPU temp being only about 51c on ultra settings in most games I play
laptop specs
not sure of mother board but its a asus tuf gaming a17
16g ddr5 4800mhz
RTX 4050 laptop gpu
Radeon Graphics cpu
Ryzen 7 700 series
it also has 84 blade arc flow fans , and 4 exhaust fans. Not sure if there is a way to increase fan speed maybe it will help for cooling?
but this runs about 70 idle if i have performance mode on and 61 to 65c on gaming My old build is a 4 to 5 year old hand me down from my brother

Based on specs, I would say the laptop is probably even, maybe a little faster, due to CPU and that slow ram holding back your GPU in the desktop. WoW in particular is very cpu heavy. Fortunately your desktop can be upgraded. A bios update would allow you to upgrade to a 5700x3d, and then just pair it with a 32gb ddr4 3200 CL16 kit of ram.

For gaming, a desktop PC is generally considered better than a laptop because it can offer significantly more power for the same price, allowing for higher frame rates and better graphics quality due to its ability to use larger, more powerful components and better cooling systems, making it the ideal choice if you primarily game at home and don't need portability; however, if you need to game on the go, a gaming laptop is the better option despite potentially being slightly less powerful for the same price.

yeah I was just wondering I have both for when I travel but I'm getting such shitty frames in rift game in no help on the web idk if 89 90 fps some times peaks to 129 on 1080p ultra but other new AAA games I can play ultra settings in get 240fps + with the rx 6600 in I was just seeing if i should play on more newer technology tell I can upgrade my desktop I plan to save 180 for about tell my birthday in i dont see any reason to upgrade because im in US,, NOTE i just fixed the high cpu temp in steam games it was the Webhelp exe chewing up my cpu usage
