Well I would contact Gigabyte get them on Facebook (if you're on it) and ask them. All the manual says is

The problem is not in motherboard, but in CPU. 6th and 7th gen CPUs can use only ram that has voltage in 1.2-1.4 range. While DDR3 uses 1.5 V and up. So if you connect DDR3 to 6600k, you will fry the CPU.
