I am looking for an av to 3 rca cable or how to make one so I can download tapes onto my laptop

It seems this is analogue video recorder, with "standard" red/white/yellow audio/video connectors.

In order to transfer these tapes to a computer, you'd need a video grabber. There are plenty of "VHS to USB converters" available for like $30. Plug one end into the recorder, plug USB end into your laptop. Install software, and start converting. It is going to be slow, you know.
