K-lite-codec Pack Problem

I installed K-lite-codec on my friend's PC. Before that, it requested to uninstall old codecs as I think and it said " broken .... or bad... " and the recommended answer was yes so I uninstalled them. He has Windows 7 Ultimate SP1. When I tried to open and video, it says " AfxSocketInit failed ". I need the solution quickly.

Just use VLC, all codec's included.

If you still require a codec after installing VLC, there's a good chance it's a virus.

never had that problem. mine installed without a hitch. wonder if it was a re-doctored download?
