I have a machine w/ a k8n neo4-f board in it and I want to upgrade to a dual core processor while they're still making 939 processors. On their site (http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=K8N_Neo4-F&class=mb) they say it's dual core ready and when i purchased it the processor i'm looking at http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16819103584 wasn't out. I'm currently running an athlon 64 3200+ (2.0ghz). So my questions are:

1. Is this an upgrade worth making?

2. Will my motherboard use a dual core opteron to it's fullest ability?

Thanks in advance,
Scott

I have almost the same setup, a k8n neo4 ultra with a x2-4400+ toledo. The opteron will work fine on that board. You may not notice too much of a difference on single threaded apps being there is only a 200 mhz difference. you'll notice a bigger difference in multithreaded apps. On the plus side, the opteron should OC better than a X2.
