Will the Intel i5 7640X have hyper-threading enabled?

Solution
i5 7640x its almost the same as the 7600k only different socket and no igpu, both i5 7640x and i7 7740x are not worth it imo, if you are going x299 platform the only cpus that takes advantage of the "upgrade" are i7 7800x, i7 7820x and i9 7900x. the other 2 cpus will be expensive to consider them a place holder.

Higher clockspeeds aswell. And an upgrade path that lets you jump onto higher core counts later. It will also more than likely overclock better, and if you only need single core performance this could be an option to look at, if you want to jump onto the enthusiast platform. So no, you don't only get a higher TDP, which most people don't even understand what is.

If you would speculated this, The Intel i7 7700K will still beat this Intel i5 7640X?

Yes and no. Yes in multi threaded apps, no in anything that uses less than 4 cores.

Pointless Placeholder

I rather buy the cheapest 7th Geb X Series that can use everything on the motherboard.

that was exactly my point theres no reason to go with either i5 7640x or i7 7740x since they are not on par with the platform. thats why i pointed on the 7800x 7820x and 7900x.

Hi there. I am a computing/IT enthusiast. I am not trolling but why can't people do a quick google search on new hardware specs. I appreciate some pc users are newbies but it is simply ridiculous to ask these kind of questions.
