I am trying to create a Kali Linux bootable USB. I am going through the setup process and I am having a problem with the partition disks section. Every time I try to use Guided - use entire disk, and I select my USB with Kali, All files in one partition (recommended for new users), and I finish partitioning and write changes to disk, it will give me a message saying:
"Partitions 1, 2 on /dev/sdb have been written, but we have been unable to inform the kernel of the change, probably because it/they are in use. As a result, the old partition(s) will remain in use. You should reboot now before making further changes."
If I choose Ignore, it gives me a message saying:
"Failed to create file system"
"The efi file system creation in partition #1 of SCSI5 (0, 0, 0) (sdb) failed."
Canceling just sends me to the manual section of partitioning disks. It happens on any guided selection for partitioning. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this? Thanks!
