I just bought two, 2 TB drives (M.2 and H.D.D.) and finally have enough space for all of shtuff. However, I can't seem to escape this damned "Destination Path Too Long" error for hundreds of files, mostly music software and video games.

Why can the following file exist on my Internal Backup (F:) drive, but not the new 2TB Seagate (G:) drive?

F:\2) Data_Files D\Video Games (12_5_2022)\Emulator R.O.M.s\P.C\Starship_Troopers_Win_Preinstalled_EN\Starship_Troopers_Win_Preinstalled_EN\Game Files\ST\Level_Outpost29\CompiledAssets\ArtAssets\Globals\AI\Bugs\Hopper\Animations\First_playable_Anims\demo_hop_flyby.sba

That's 269 characters, which Windows didn't have a problem with during the install. But... now I can't move the damned thing without cutting off a bunch of files at the end.

Same goes for music software. These are files that I absolutely cannot change the file path to, so why do they work on one drive, but not the other?

I already checked and "LongPathsEnabled" is already set to "1" in the Registry, so I'm stumped.

things often do not work correctly for long file names You can rename part of the directory path to a shorter name to cut down the overall length of the name.
for example
Starship_Troopers_Win_Preinstalled_EN
you could rename that subdirectory to
ST_EN
and it would reduce the over all path length.
you can rename directories by using file explorer, right mouse click on the subdirectory you want to rename to bring up the option.
(most likely you will have to be the owner of the directory)

normally, i would avoid directories over 254 characters long.
