It started happening last nigth, I was playing a game for 2 hours and it froze, when I tried to boot it again, it wouldn't let me. So I checked the actual contents on the SSD and noticed I kept getting "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error". However all the files were there, just inaccessible.
I have tried looking up this issue and most commonly its due to bad wire or SSD is connected wrong, so I changed the cable, change the USB port... roughly 2 hours works then freeze again and same I/O device error. Btw the game will eventually load the assets and work for like a second..before it has to load the next thing and freeze again...
I tried:
-As I said changing cables and USB port
-Tried running CHKDSK /f /r /x but got an error saying it was a RAW drive? Restarted computer so it wouldn't be in "error mode" and CHKDSK says there is no issue
-Tried opening Disk Management (which took much longer to open than usual) and ran "error checking" and first it said there was no errors but I ran it anyways, then it said there was errors but it couldn't fix it and just run it again. However the actual info of the disk says its "Healthy" and doesn't mention it being a Raw Device at all.
-Checked temperature and health on CrystalDiskInfo and it was showing optimal temperatures of 30C and said driver was healthy, I also tried using the app from the manufacturer (Seagate) themselves and said the same, I also ran their self-test and no issues.
I dont know what to do at this point, any tips would be greatly appreciated! Obviously I can just restart and it will work for another 2 hours or so, but I would rather find the issue, plus its very stressful not knowing when the game will randomly freeze and make you loose progress.
