Hi, I bought a PSU from KENTEK not long ago, it lasted a total of 30 minutes and the exploded in a blazing glory. I can't find anywhere how to get ahold of KENTEK to return it, as it came with a 1 year warranty, I don't know who to go through otherwise. Anyone know the email to get a hold of support for KENTEK PSUs?

sadly other than posting some poor reviews on the seller on ebay, you really have nowhere to turn. wish you did not have to find out the hard way but often this is how folks learn the hard lessons.

crap psu's are cheap for a reason!!! sadly some of the worst ones out there actually cost as much as a true quality unit. this makes it hurt so much worse when it fails since it cost so much to begin with

i don't see anything about them anywhere on the web aside from a bunch of upset people who bought their clearly horrible products.

i don't see a homepage or anything other than product listings on a bunch of seller sites. scanning some of them for signs of who they come from only gets me to something called "AXLE International Holding Limited" which is a taiwan holding company which seems to have their hands in a ton of places.

the place/seller where you bought the psu is probably the only place you will have a chance of getting any help with a refund or other options. otherwise you are probably out of luck and can only chalk this up to experience in why whose crap/cheap psu's are not worth it no matter how cheap.

Honestly, based on what I found on a quick search, you're better off buying a more reliable brand. There are loads of issues with their PSUs. Lots of bad capacitors and popping systems.

Last thing you should EVER cheap out on is a PSU. People spend hundreds on other parts only to spend less on the one part that can break them all.

Thanks guys. I haven't been able to find anything either, which is weird. I've been using a KENTEK 650 for over a year now with no problems...this one I bought my cousin only lasted 30 minutes.

Its like russian roulette with computers lives instead of your own.
The unit you have could work for 15 years without failing (it will fail much sooner than that, dont worry), but another could fail on first boot. Thats why you need quality across the board. Remove probability.

Take it back to where you bought it. Get your money back, not a replacement.

I wish I could take it back. I bought all the parts to build it for him for Christmas. once I gave him the computer, it'd already been 30 days, so the store won't take it back, yet they won't email me back and tell me who to get in contact with. They sold it to me on Ebay, I emailed them directly and they told me that the 30 days was up, but now they won't respond again with any information.

I used all quality parts. AMD Phenom FX 8150 8 core processor, MSI GTX 960 2gb , 16gb of Ripjaws DDR3, can't remember the name, but an MSI Gaming Mobo. Then of course that crappy PSU.

Cut your losses, and put this in the "Don't do that again" column.

I would raise a dispute (or at least tell the seller you're going to) with eBay/PayPal and go from there.

Generally there is some leeway over the Xmas period (presents etc) and 30 days is a very limited window considering.

eBay are generally pretty good with customer service and may intervene on your behalf. Did you use PayPal? They may well compensate you.

It's been said though, you may just have to chalk this one up to experience. Do your homework beforehand, to avoid any potential issues. Reputable PSU manufacturers have both quality components, and an easy method to return a defective unit. Some cheap PSU manufacturers have an easy RMA policy, but poor components - and you've found one that has neither.
