Kepler vs. GTX 590

Hi,
I am wondering if it is worth it to buy a GTX 590 now. Of course, it is unknown but do you think the GTX 590 will be more powerful than the top of the line single gpu from Nvidia's Kepler series? Or is it worth waiting for the Kepler series to come out, and maybe then buy a gtx 590 if it does indeed perform better and will be cheaper? Currently, I have a GTX 260 (core 216). I am hoping to play Skyrim on high settings with my 260.

Skyrim will have been out for a few months by the time Kepler is released. You certainly won't need a GTX 590 to play it, maybe get a cheaper interim card. The PNY GTX 560 Ti is $190 at Newegg right now with a free Batman: Arkham City game.

If you are currently using a GTX260, a GTX590 would be a massive jump, and probably not worth it. If you are looking at triple monitor gaming, or a 2560 x 1600 monitor, then maybe.

Also, GTX590 seems to be all but unobtainable.

sli gtx570 would be cheaper and perform better.
Still, a single GTX570 or GTX580 should be all you need at 1080P, and it will be a good improvement over the GTX260.

Also consider that the new 28nm ati and nvidia cards will be out near the end of the year.

I am leaning more towards waiting for AMD's or Nvidia's next lineup of gpu's. And my current motherboard doesn't support SLI 🙁

if i were you, i would stick with a single GTX 560ti / 570 until the AMD 7K series come out, the new XDR2 rambus technology is said to be twice faster than GDDR5, 28nm process = less power & less heat in addition to 1 GHz GPU frequency a high end model such as HD 7950 is said to be performing better than a single HD 6990...

this is what i'm always recommending since i heard about the AMD 7K series.....
