Kernal data inpage error, windows 8.1

a few days ago I got a BSOD with the error
KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. I restarted the computer and everything seemed fine. Virus scan doesn't show anything (Google said that could be a cause). I've deleted a lot of programs (Google also said it could be low memory). But now my computer is incredibly slow, like even just the calculator freezes the computer and takes about 5 minutes to open. I'm stressing hard because this computer is literally my livelihood. Anyone have any idea what I can do?

It's windows 8.1, HP pavilion.

Explanation:

This Stop message indicates that the requested page of kernel data from the paging file could not be read into memory. This Stop message is usually caused by a bad block (sector) in a paging file, a virus, a disk controller error, or failing RAM. In rare cases, it is caused when nonpaged pool resources run out. It is also caused by defective hardware.


HP's usually have a mode you can select on bootup that has hardware diagnostics. It should have a memory diagnostic in it. I'd run that, or another memory diagnostic. You may have faulty RAM.

I'd also scan the hard drive for errors.
