Hello,
My computer recently crashed (went to a BSOD with a kernel_data_error) due to the harddisk failing (was in raid 0), I managed to correct the problem by switching to AHCI (although of course I lost all my data). So I used that opportunity to upgrade to Windows 8.1 from Windows 7, which is working well so far though takes a bit of getting used to.
However, I still have a few problems: Firstly, I still get this message on bootup 'Hard Disk not detected!' however the HDD is working fine as is the rest of the machine.
Secondly, it seems I have a lot of outdated drivers according to any driver update checker I use even though Device Manager tells me all is well.
Thirdly, my bios (Motherboard Model is Asus P8P67), will not update. I download the file to the Asus utility, flash my bios, all seems well however my bios version still lists as version 1.000 something rather than 3.00 something I cant remember the numbers exactly.
Can any expert out there give me some advice to solve all these problems as my machine has a poor track record with crashes and then having to reinstall the OS. I know its a very big ask but I would be very grateful as I've spent a lot of money on this machine, as do we all.
Thanks, Alasdair.
