Welcome! Glad you're here to hear out my story.

It began in november of last year. I got a second hard drive 4 my bday. Installed it, started to load it up, worked just fine. Around two months ago (I think it was during a gaming session of The Crew 2 Alpha) my pc restarted on its own. I thought, ummm okay, yeah that's wierd... Didn't treat it seriously back then. I knew it was something to take care of but it didn't bother me much then. It was happening like... once every 2 weeks. First week of the summer holiday, man that was painful. It restarted like crazy. Didn't know what was going on. Searched through the internet, did some research and performed various benchmarks to get to know the situation better. As the title says: In the Event Viewer I found this thing - Kernel Power 41 - Based on the knowledge I gathered here is all the things you need to know:

- My pc restarts itself ONLY while I'm playing games. Mostly the graphic intense ones like ARK but I was supprised to find it restarting in various titles like: Star Wars the Old Republic, The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit and even Minecraft(I'm playing on shaders so it is a bit more difficult to run)

- My temps are good
-CPU: Idle~35, Load~65
-GPU: Idle~45, Load~70

-Benchmarks:

OCCT: Every benchmark was running for 30 minutes, the only one that didn't complete was the Power Supply test. It worked for 10 secs and the pc restarted...

FurMark: I run the test for 15 minutes. My max GPU temp was 72. The test did just fine. No problems.

So basically my first pick is the power supply. Since none of the other parts seem to fail that would be logical. But you may have a different opinion on that. Maybe there is something I missed.

My specs:

CPU: i5-4590
Cooler: SilentiumPC Spartan Pro
GPU: MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G
MB: MSI Z97 Gaming 3
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 1600MHz CL9
Hard Drives: 2x WD Blue 1TB
PSU: Thermaltake Smart SE 530W
Windows 8.1 64-bit

My main question is: Is this the power supply and if it is, is it just not enough or is it not working properly. And if it's not the psu, what could it be?

I tried a different psu an OCZ 500W unit but no succes. It didn't even post. I'm trying to borrow a 650W be quiet psu from my friend but he just assembled his rig 2.0 and he's too lazy to get his ass to disconnect it and hand it over to me for a few hours. I'm basically left alone with this problem.

If you need more details, go ahead, I'll try to provide them.

And sorry for my english if i wrote something incorrectly. Not my main language.

I'm thinking about the XFX Black Edition XTR 650W. Would that be good in terms of quality?

Thank you very much :)
