My computer keeps shutting down at random points, it will go to the BIOS screen after the shutdown and I have to switch off the pc manually, is it to do with my power supply failing ?

My setup is a GTX 1060 6g, 8g RAM, Intel core i5- 6600 CPU @ 3.30ghz
64bit windows 10, and all of this is running on a corsair 500w power supply I'm also running 1 HDD and an SSD.

Is this kernel power critical error due to not enough power going into the system? if anyone has anything they can tell me that would be great and ill supply more information, Thank you!!

Are you seeing this in event viewer? Event 41 Kernel power error is created by windows at start up. Windows runs a report to check PC was closed correctly on the previous attempt and if it finds it wasn't, it creates event 41. It is not the cause, it is a reaction. Generally this means windows doesn't know why it restarted. If it was a windows error, you would get a BSOD and it wouldn't create this error, as it would know why it restarted.

Have you cleaned PC inside recently? The restarts may be due to overheating?
What motherboard do you have? Have you got the latest BIOS?

Yes i saw the kernel critical error in event viewer, you've cleared up the fact that its not the cause of the shutdowns, rather its my computer telling me that its shut down unexpectedly, ive checked the cpu temp and the gpu temps and they're all fine, on another note ive recently installed an SSD onto my computer could this be a reason why its happening ?

Also is updating the BIOS easy to do ? i'm just worried that it might be difficult i am quite new to using computers
