I have a brand new gt62vr 6re Dominator pro laptop made by msi. It has a gtx 1070, intel i7 h series cpu, is running windows 10, and has a steel series keyboard. Sometimes while typing or playing games there is delay where I will release a key but the key will act as if it is still being held down for about 1 second and there seems to happen to any key, not just a specific one. This causes problems while taking notes in class or playing games. I have tried doing a resetting the computer already, and I am sure it is not malware as the only things I have downloaded onto the computer are steam, battlenet, and chrome. I would like to avoid sending the computer back to the manufacturer for repairs if I can because I need i to take notes in class, and one of my classes requires all students to have a laptop. Also the key is definitely not physically stuck and the laptop has not been dropped, had liquid spilled on it, or had any food or dirt get on it. It has been kept only indoors on a table, or in my bag as I carry it between classes, and no the bag has not been dropped, stepped on, or anything else of the sort.

Quick note, plugging in an external keyboard through usb seems to fix this issue, although i can't use an external keyboard in class so this is still inconvienent

I tried downloading and installing the steel series engine, it didn't work. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard drivers and that did not work either.

I have but they want me to send it in for repairs which would take about a month, I can't be without a laptop that long. I am a comp sci major. So I either want to fix it myself or have it gone for less than a week, any longer than that and I have to just deal with the issue I guess.

This does work, I'll do this until the summer when I have more free time and can send in the computer for repairs.

I'm having the exact same problem, with the same type of computer. Besides the extra laptop, have you found any other fix for this issue?

Update: I seem to be having this problem only when I am typing in Microsoft Word. Were you experiencing the problem in Word as well? What were the other programs that you were having issues with? As I am typing this right now in my browser I'm having no issues. When I was using word I would have experienced the problem by now, which makes me think that it is an issue with Word/Windows. That would not surprise me terribly, given the state of the OS. Any thoughts?

Can you start your own thread with the details of what you have found so far and what PC you have.

If its same model MSI, I would suggest contacting them as two people with same problem on same model makes me think more people have had it happen and it might be a known problem with MSI.

No my issue occurs across all apps. Its happened while searching in chrome, playing overwacth, playing assorted steam games, typing in google drive. I have just switched to using an external keyboard most the time. Also restarting the computer seems to help for awhile but eventually the issue returns. Haven't had it happen in awhile.
