Keyboard aluminum brush black dots

So I have a mechanical keyboard with an aluminum brush. I tried cleaning it and rubbed a little too hard with windex and a paper towel. The thing now has black dots on the area and it's pissing me off. Anyway i could fix this?

I can't upload pictures of it but up close it literally looks like the paint is chipped, can i like paint over it or is it just done with

aluminum doesn't come painted most of the times, if you peeled off the paint, yes, you can paint it again, but is a pita to do it

be sure to know if it is plastic, metal or what and what is better to use over it
