I'm not looking for gaming keyboards or mice specifically or anything, I do play a lot of games on my PC, but I'm just trying to find good keyboards and mice in general. If anyone has any suggestion, gaming keyboards and mice included, I'd appreciate. I'm not looking for anything too flashy or colorful. My price range goes to $150, but I'm open to more expensive equipment.

As for gaming keyboards and/or mice, I remember seeing that alienware had a really cool keyboard that had lights which would change color, if there's something similar from another brand, I'd be interested.

Oh and one last question. If I get a wireless mouse/keyboard, do I need to buy batteries all the time, or would I just need to recharge it through a USB port or something else? I've never used one before.

Anyway, thanks in advance.

wireless mice can have an internal rechargeable battery (some come with cradle some come with usb cord) and some can take batteries you would need to replace. its quite possible to drain a battery charge in one long gaming session (6-8 hours). eventually the rechargeable battery style will get less and less battery time which means more and more time on the charger until it is essentially worthless. the aa battery style requires constant changing of batteries (which could be rechargeable aa to save cash or you could buy new but that might get expensive if you did that).

wireless keyboards generally take batteries. they typically last a month or two with 2 aa size batteries.

i had a wireless set for years and it wasnt terrible (mouse was rechargeable internal battery type, keyboard was aa). with long gaming sessions i had to recharge the mouse constantly though (and swap out to a different mouse while it charged). for short sessions it was fine.

some mice like the razer ones allow a detachable usb cable for wireless mode which you can attach when it gets low (or leave attached if you wanted a non-wireless connection for gaming)

do you require flashy lights or would you be more interested in what works best at the expense of not having fancy pretty decals, flashing lights and backlighting?

what are your thoughts on mechanical keyboards? a bit louder than normal keyboards however they last longer and are much better to type on.

ducky zero isnt bad

maxkeyboard isnt too bad either

most popular higher end mechanicals go for about $150 or more however so if you are open to that..

maxkeyboard has some nice backlit models for that price.

and there are a few others around too depending on what your exact needs are..

as far as mice go... i personally recommend a razer deathadder (the old version which has a blue led)

other popular choices are the logitech g5, g6 or g7.... the corsair m60, m90, m95

Solution
Well I'm more interested in having a reliable setup, if there are some cool keyboards like the one from alienware that I mentioned that are also reliable I'd be interested. Currently I use a mechanical keyboard, so if there's something on that end, I'd be fine with it.

If the wireless stuff end up being an issue, I'm fine with a wired setup.
