[SOLVED] Keyboard and mouse both double typing/clicking

Hi all,

I built a PC around a year ago and for the past 6 months or so have noticed a problem, where completely at random, my keyboard will double type a letter, so for example one press of "s" will type "ss", and this also randomly happens with my mouse as well, where one click will result in 2. My keyboard is a Logitech G213 and mouse is a Logitech G305.

I have had my keyboard replaced with a completely different one, to see if I was unlucky with two faulty peripherals, but my replacement keyboard does the exact same, at the same random frequency. I can go a whole day without noticing it, then it will happen twice within 5 minutes sometimes, and I just cannot get my head around it.

I have tried reinstalling drivers, using different USB ports, reinstalling Windows, and nothing has worked thus far. Any suggestions on where to go from here would be hugely appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Try a clean boot and see if it changes anything - make sure to read instructions and make sure NOT to disable any microsoft services or windows won't load right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

if clean boot fixes it, it shows its likely a startup program. You should, slowly, over a number of startups. restart the programs you stopped to isolate the one that is to blame.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will give this a try now!
