Keyboard and mouse problem

My compaq/vista desktop mouse and keyboard won't work on the log in screen but works perfectly on the bio page. I can't saves files to a disk, and I don't have a backup disk to do a recovery. What can I do?

USB?

Try to enable it in the BIOS.
