PC info:

Intel i5 6500 3.2ghz, 16gb corsair [2 dimms], radeon rx480, windows 10 64 bit [installed on an internal ssd].
Motherboard is a gigabyte H110M-A

[I only have a wired keyboard and wireless mouse connected atm while trying to figure this issue out, and have tried connecting a different usb keyboard and still same issue]

I am having a problem with my wire USB keyboard and wireless USB mouse to not work after windows 10 boots up. They both work in bios and windows recovery though. I have a password screen in Windows 10, and cannot get passed it, even if trying a totally different wired usb keyboard. I dont have an old school keyboard to try.

I am almost positive that this happened because of a recent windows 10 update. I figure one possible method to fix would be to uninstall usb hub or similar in device manager, but cannot even get passed win10 password screen.

I can get to windows 10 recovery environment, and tried to roll back to a recent windows memory of january 9th, but that did not fix the issue. When I try to uninstall the most recent windows quality feature it wouldnt work and neither did the option below that. I can get to the command prompt using recovery, and my windows drive and all my files show up under dir/p but I dont know a correct way to utilize this method to fix my issue.

So I am personally stuck on what I could do. Is there a way to enter safe mode in windows 10 to try uninstalling usb hub and windows should reinstall on restart, or does anyone else have an idea on what I could do?

Last case scenario will be losing all my installs and having to install fresh which wouldnt be the end of the world but will take 2 to 3 days of setup and installations.

Thanks in advance, I havent posted here before but Tom's hardware has always been a go to for info over the years.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Are you able to get into BIOS and remain there? If so, what BIOS version are you on for your motherboard? If you don't have an USB hub, you shouldn't look that far, try and disconnect the keyboard prior to a cold boot and then reconnect the keyboard.

You should also try and disconnect the discrete GPU and see if that helps. You will need to hook the display to your motherboard's display output to get display.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Since you're able to get to an OS recovery environment, you should be able to get into Safe Mode, then backup all your critical content and then reinstall the OS after recreating the bootable USB installer.

Update:

Thx for the reply. Unfortunately even with safe mode and windows recovery I was simply not able to roll windows back or delete the newest quality or features updates. And as far as giving the info, I'll keep that in mind next time, but my issue was obviously a software related issue and at this time have found no evidence of what was going on to have been caused by hardware.

I had to just bite the bullet after 3 days without a working computer, and reinstall windows 10 with a bootable usb I created at a neighbor's house. I'm going to be extremely careful with windows updates from now on, and I'm going to see about creating a windows image backup once a week or something similar to keep this from happening with such bad consequence. Thanks for your time.
