I recently purchased a new 120gb Sandisk SSD for my laptop to replace a crappy 32gb SSD that came with it. I formatted the new SSD then cloned my old SSD information onto the new SSD. After I installed the new SSD the computer loaded up and went to the lock screen but the keyboard and mouse pad are not working at all. I put the old SSD back in and everything works fine so I know its not a hardware problem or at least I don't think. What's going wrong and how do I fix it? I'm not really a computer person so I don't really know how to go into much more detail.

How do you suggest I do that properly?

Using whatever clone software you have chosen, create bootable media for it (a CD/DVD or a USB drive). Boot to that media, running the cloning software. Clone the old drive to the new one. Remove the old drive. Boot to the new one. If it is cloned properly, everything will be exactly as it was on the old drive, except you'll be using the new one.
