So, I have my new build and I have encountered a problem, my keyboard doens't work before I get into the OS, I can't press DEL/F2 to get into BIOs neither I can use it to navigate and insert values in the BIOS, It is a USB keyboard (CM storm Octane), It receives power (the LED lights up) but it won't interact with the computer itself, I tried all the USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports (even the ones on the case) and still nothing.
Is there any workaround what you guys know of or do I need a USB to PS/2 adapter?

A USB to PS/2 adapter may work, but that is going to be on a case by case basis.

Your USB keyboard sounds like it's working correctly, as does the rest of your computer. It should receive power as soon as the USB ports are powered on, which is right after the rest of the motherboard. However, your BIOS or UEFI doesn't necessarily carry around much in the way of drivers for USB peripherals, so unless USB Legacy emulation is on, you're going to need a PS/2 keyboard to get in the first time to turn it on.

Edit: If you have a Good Will nearby or know of any garage sales, you may be able to pick up a PS/2 keyboard for $1 - $5. They are handy to keep on hand in case of troubleshooting or working on older machines.

Ok then, I 'll try to find a PS/2 adapter or keyboard
Just one more thing, the mouse that the keyboard came with works perfectly in the BIOS, isn't that odd? Since it's a combo should both be working or none at all? or is it completely irrelevant?

Sry for the late reply, a litle busy here
ASUS has a programs that reboots your system directly into BIOS, I used it and when I got in the mouse worked but the keyboard didn't, the LED's lighted up, could even cycle though the LED colors, but I had no input from him, arrows, keys, numbers, F keys, nothing

So, I know this is akinda old but I got it working, I followed every option presented above and none worked, but I got a fix, updated the BIOS version, only needed the mouse for that thanks to ASUS EZ flash or something like that and now the keyboard works 😀 Felt like sharing if someone has the same problem
