Question Keyboard intermittently recognized when trying to enter BIOS

I'm trying to enter the BIOS and install Windows on an older custom PC (Asus p5nt deluxe is the Mobo), but for some reason the keyboard(s) (I've tried known good PS2 and USB keyboards in front and back i/o ports) are only detected for a little bit then stop working when I'm in the BIOS attempting to install Windows. I've tried removing, replacing, and reinstalling the CMOS battery 20 mins later with the power supply unplugged, but nothing seems to be working. My guess is that the power supply is just old and needs to be replaced (despite the computer powering up and seemingly working just fine) but I'm also wondering if maybe the motherboard itself is having some sort of power delivery issue. Any ideas?
