keyboard is not working but mouse works fine

hello,

i have Microsoft wireless keyboard n mouse. when i woke up today the keyboard ceased to respond but surprisingly the mouse is working.

checked batteries, changed to new ones... failed.

i tried changing to wired keyboard n mouse. even there mouse was working fine but ps2 keyboard not getting detected.

then i searched online... did few trouble shooting steps like uninstalling keyboard drivers. no success

tried to enter bios but no luck as keyboard was dead.

now typing in mobile. I'm supposed to finish editing for my travel documentary. n in stuck.

Kindly guide me. #desperate

do you have a usb keyboard available?
there is always the on screen keyboard. not a solution but maybe you can finish your work

i got two keyboards... All are ps2.

looks like i need to arrange a usb keyboard.

on screen keyboard can do a bit.

But yes taking that help.

USB would be the next step.
it could be the PS2 port on the PC.
do you have another device to test the two keyboards you have now? another computer/laptop?
if they both work the problem is likely in the port.

what amuses me is even my android phone is detecting wireless mouse when i connect Bluetooth dongle in otg. but even there is falling to detect keyboard.

i have also reassembled the keyboard just to double check any pressed button. no kiddies there too.

Even ps2 keyboard is not responding in pc.

thus :

1. pc USB port is not the problem.
2. WIRELESS DONGLE is not the problem.
3. pressed KEY is not the problem


what could be the reason? please experts help me.

Just bought a new USB keyboard and it worked! Solved!!!
