I have an Acer Aspire X1470 desktop, with Windows 7. It came with a basic black USB keyboard that says Acer on it, model number kb36211.
I spilled a small amount of orange juice on the keyboard and quickly wiped it up. After a few mins a couple of the keys became sticky so I unplugged the keyboard, (it was working fine at this point) unscrewed all of the screws from the back of the keyboard and pulled the 2 sides apart.
The top part with all of the keys is completely plastic and has no electronic parts on it, I washed the juice off of the keys and let it dry. The bottom half of the keyboard had no juice or anything wet on it. Once it was dry I put it back together and plugged it in, all 3 lights come on (number lock, caps lock, and scroll lock?) but the keyboard is totally unresponsive and won't work.
I don't understand what went wrong, I've taken an older keyboard apart before to clean it and had no problems. Anyone have any idea what's wrong? Is this keyboard trash now, or can it be repaired?
