Question keyboard MALFUNCTION

whenever i type something whether in search box or notepad,this dot "." character keeps repeating on itself even when i'm not touching keyboard. it's a headache. please someone suggest any solution,
i had Windows 8.1 OS in my hP pavilion laptop and upgraded to WIN 10 after trying everything...that didn't resolve it too.
tell me if you need details about it.

Could be a stuck key, there's no software reason for it.

I think you’re going to need to replace the little keyboard
