keyboard not working for NO REASON

so I was using my desktop pc and it worked fine. randomly after powering back on they keyboard isn't working properly. only a few keys work, like i, space, and - only when holding shift. I can't sign in but I can hold the button to show password and it shows the space from spacebar and - but i results in a big space like I'm pressing tab on Microsoft word. ALSO the on screen keyboard is acting the exact same way... plus half the time it won't open without restarting my computer. I haven't updated windows recently as far as I know, what can I do!!

Try another keyboard. If it's a USB keyboard, try it in another slot.

its not the keyboard itself cuz the on screen keyboard is acting the same way

well hours later it started working again for no reason without a reboot
