Keyboard only works half the time after reapplying thermal gel

Hi, I just recently reapplied thermal gel to my cpu, and suddenly, my keyboard only works half the time, or sometimes only half the keys work. I don't know if these two problems are related, but I've tried reinstalling the keyboard and updating the drivers which still don't work. I'm running windows xp on a dell xps with a zboard. Thanks for any help

Try a second keyboard to see if maybe the first one went bad.
