Hello,

Here is the situation, hope somebody can clear :) my brain.
I have a MSI K4VT with an Xp 1700+ with Win 98 and XP.

The problem is that when there is not a long activity on my keyboard the 3 leds (n/lock,c/lock,s/lock) turn to "on" and my keyboard does not respond anymore. I have to plug it out and then in to make it work.

Sometimes you can here a long beep or more beeps and then the keyboard does not respond anymore as wrote above.

Sometimes when I leave home and the computer is turned down when I come home I find the 3 leds on and of course I have to plug it out and then in and the start my computer.

So my guess is not the operating system, and probably is not a bios problem because I have reseted the bios.

I also noticed that I cannot start my computer by clicking on the keyboard or on the mouse but how knows maybe I did not set the bios correctly.

Could it be from a bad keyboard controller?

Check your power saving settings inside the BIOS for keybaord wake-up things. Also check if your motherboard uses a jumper to enable/disable wake-up on keyboard (I have an slightly older MSI board that does).

My CPU fan spins so fast that it creates a wormhole
