Keyboard Problem Dell 1501

My Dell 1501 keyboard is not working properly all keys from the I, K and M right give you numbers or something other than the right letter. Changed the keyboard already no help thinking the keyboard multiplexer on the mother board has gone bad anyone with a little help?

Holding down the function key ("Fn" on your keyboard), turns all those letters into a numpad. Maybe it's locked to that setting somehow? Your manual might say something about it.
