Keyboard problem

Hi,

Randomly, or so it seems, my XP Pro system looses the keyboard. It's as if
it were pulled out of the port. So far the only way I can get it back is to
reboot the system. It can work for days at a time, and then.... nada.

It's just a PS2 dell quietkey, nothing fancy.

Do keyboards have drivers? Controllers? If so, can I delete and reinstall
like for other hardware?

Thanks,

Sammy

Is your mouse PS2 also, or USB? I've heard about others having issues
similar to this when the keyboard is PS2 and the mouse is USB in some
configurations. If you haven't installed any separate manufacturer's
specialized drivers for the keyboard, the operating system will
automatically install generic drivers.

I'm using a wifi mouse. the transceiver is ps2. hmmm.
I'll try a different mouse for a while and see what happens.
