Keyboard PS/2 to USB not working

Hello,i recently purchased a ps/2 keyboard from Frontech. I am having Dell N4010 laptop with Win 7 os, I purchased a ps/2 adopter also to connect the keyboard to the laptop. But the problem is that once I connect the keyboard to the laptop only the indicator bulbs glow on the keyboard and the keyboard is not working at all.

The model is Frontech JIL-1654.

Most of those keyboard USB-to-PS2 adapters are "dumb" connectors with no logic inside them. They depend on the keyboard being smart enough to recognize whether it's connected to a USB port or a PS/2 port and to use the appropriate protocol.

In the early days of USB keyboards there were still a lot of systems around that used PS/2 connectors, so most of the keyboards could work in either mode. But that's not really true any more, and it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of the newer keyboards only work properly when connected to a USB port.

Those adapters tend not to work too well. You should find a USB keyboard to use.
