Hello,
First time I post here and I want to ask something.
Is there any chance I can fit a 50 pin keyboard ribbon into a 40 pin socket on the laptop's motherboard? Is there any adaptor for that? Or can I install a 50 pin socket (there is place on motherboard)?
Thanks in advance.

The only possible way you can get a ribbon converter if you can find one made for the keyboard you have to work specifically for the computer model you have. You can't just cut out pins from a keyboard and expect it to work fully unless someone already tested and checked it for compatibility. It would be even harder to install a new keyboard interface, if you have to ask if you can do it, you won't have the knowledge or tools to do it. You'd have to pretty much take apart the motherboard and add new connections to it, you may as well just start out with parts and build a motherboard on your own.
