Question Keyboard shortcuts like my Mac?

On my Mac, if I want to type an em-dash (—), I simply depress shift and option and then press the short dash (minus) key. In Windows, it seems to be depressing the Alt key while typing 0151 and then releasing the Alt key. Well, that kinda sucks. But I did find an app called Key Manager that permits me to craft shortcuts so a Shift-Alt-dash results in — and that seems to be a decent workaround.

However, do I have to re-create all the alternate keys for things like a tilde and umlaut (or the many other keystrokes I'm used to on my Mac) within Key Manager or is there some app already out there to make my Windows keyboard provide Mac-like keystrokes? This bizarre "Alt-with-four-numbers" routine seems so 20th Century. Advice appreciated.

Thanks
Barry

Thanks for your reply. I also contacted the Key Manager developer just in case someone already had such a config file already crafted for ex-Mac users but, like you, he says I'll have to craft my own. Oh well, not much else to do during COVID, right?
