(I'm new to this forum, so please bear with me. I'm not entirely sure where everything goes or how everything works yet.)

For some reason, my keyboard likes to shut itself off at random times while I'm playing a game. Windows will play the device disconnected sound, all of the lights on my keyboard will go off, and after a few seconds it'll recognize the device again and everything is fine. This happened several times today while playing Tron 2.0.

It's also done this while running a more modern game (a Transformers title), except in that case, all of my USB devices disconnect- headset, mouse, keyboard, everything.

I've tried plugging the devices into different USB ports. This problem also happens on both a generic Microsoft USB keyboard as well as my Razer Chroma.

My system specs are as follows:
CPU: Intel i7 5820K 3.3GHz
Mobo: Asus X99 Deluxe
RAM: 16GB DDR4
GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GTX970 4GB
PSU: Corsair RM650
HDD: 2TB Western Digital Black
SSD: 120GB Samsung 850 EVO
OS: Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium

Additionally, these are the peripherals I'm running off the USB ports:
Keyboard: Razer Chroma
Mouse: Razer Taipan
Headset: Plantronics Gamecom 780

I've had a hard time finding much relevant information about this issue and figured that this would be a good place to get direct answers.

My current keyboard (the Chroma) installed the latest drivers when I first set it up (and device manager confirms this). However, the issue of my keyboard shutting off also happened with my previous generic Microsoft keyboard.

It only happens while I'm running games, and it only started with my current build (which is only a month or two old).
