I've recently just built a new computer about a week ago. Everything is running fine. Last night, I tried to launch a game (Batman: Arkham Asylum), and my keyboard wouldn't respond at all. I couldn't alt+tab or ctrl+alt+del out of it. I had to restart my computer. My keyboard was working fine for everything, until I tried to launch a game again, when my keyboard stopped working once more. After quitting out of the game, my keyboard works fine.

In short, it appears that my keyboard only malfunctions when I have a game open. I've reinstalled and updated my drivers, done my windows updates, run a virus scan, malware scan and windows defender, I've tried it with a different keyboard with the same result, so I doubt that it's an issue that's relegated to my keyboard.

I'm running out of ideas for how to fix it short of a complete reinstall of Windows. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, I would be beyond grateful.

Specs:

Windows 7: Home Premium
16gb RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 660
AMD 990FXA-UD3 Mobo
AMD FX9370 8 core CPU

If there's anything else I can provide to help resolve this issue, let me know.

Okay, immediately after I posted this, I tried something different.

Last night, I got a new headset. The Sennheiser U320. I've confirmed that while that's plugged in, it is dropping my keyboard out while in a game. I've worked out why my keyboard isn't working, but now I've got no clue how to fix it so my keyboard and my headset are both compatible. I'm about to submit a support ticket off. If anyone has a solution for this new issue, be sure to let me know.

Weird. Have you checked Device Manager? (do any errors show up?) Try and reinstall the drivers for both your keyboard and your headset.

Yeah, I've checked my device manager. The only flagged device in there is an External CD-Drive that I used to install windows. The Headset won't work in USB 3.0, it works fine in USB 2.0. So my best guess is that the headset was designed not with 3.0 in mind and as such it has an issue with my keyboard. I would like it fixed so that I can plug it into my front ports, but it's real issue having it in the back. Thanks for your help Sora.
